As part of their revision for AS Level Religious Studies Buddhism paper, Ellie Carroll, Jessica Dorgan and Ellie Slocombe attended a meditation and teaching session at Swansea's Dharmavajra Kadampa Buddhist Centre this week.
As a result of their visit they were able to experience for themselves the process and effects of Buddhist mediation, life as part of a Buddhist community and see a Buddhist shrine.
We are very grateful to the Buddhist Centre for their kind and warm welcome, and the time they spent after the session with the girls explaining the shrine and key beliefs of Kadampa Buddhism.
"Practicing meditation with Lay Buddhists was an interesting and helpful experience as it gave insight on what it’s like to partake in a Buddhist tradition. From being involved with this practice I will now have awareness, it has given be the ability to write an exam answer with more understanding on the topic." Jessica.
