The first day of term in November was Super Learning Day at Ysgol Maesydderwen.
Years 7 – 13 were involved in different workshops throughout the day where they experienced extended learning tasks.
Year 7 were involved in sport workshops which involved team building skills.
Year 8 were eco students for the day not only learning about the environment but getting muddy in the process.

Murder in Mind was the literacy challenge for Year 9. They were looking at famous murders over the last century and became budding journalists as they wrote a story and gave a presentation a la BBC news. Look out Huw Edwards, Maesydderwen students are hot on your heels!
Finance for Life was the order of the day for Year 10. Students were shown how their numeracy skills are used in the workplace. They were shown and involved in how numeracy is used in jobs such as architecture, nursing and in the Army. They were also shown how to use mind mapping skills to help with revision.
Preparation for the GCSE Maths exam was on the menu for Year 11 working hard on their exam technique throughout the day – we all wish them the best of luck for their exam.
Sixth Form students were working on their Welsh Baccalaureate as well as supporting younger students in their workshops. It all counts for Welsh Bacc!
