Ysgol Maesydderwen kick started their KS3 Rugby sessions off again by inviting Jamie Davies a WRU Level 2 coach and former Dragons player to come and coach the pupils. Jamie began his career at the Scarlets Academy, where he was capped at all age grades for Wales up to Under 20’s, before going on to play for the Dragons in the Pro 12.
All the pupils that took part in the training said that it was one of the best sessions they have ever had and have asked if Jamie could come in on a regular basis. The school is working hard to persuade Jamie to come back :) There where fourteen pupils training on the day mostly from Years 8 and 9.
Ysgol Maesydderwen were supposed to have a game away to Bishop Vaughan School in Swansea but it has had to rearranged due to Bishop Vaughan players not being able to attend.
Even though the game has been cancelled there will still be training after school on Monday 9th March 2015 3;15pm-4;30pm.
