Pupils at Ysgol Maesydderwen are celebrating their GCSE, BTEC and Welsh Baccalaureate results with 99% of students achieving 5 or more A* - C grades. Also pleasing is that no pupil will leave the school without a recognised qualification which shows that we are an inclusive school and reflects the excellent support provided by the Learning Centre.
There were some excellent individual successes including Joshua Griffiths (3 A* grades, 3 A grades and 5 B grades), David Hopkins (2 A* grades, 4 A grades and 5 B grades), Rebecca Hughes (7 A grades and 2 B grades) , Cari Pritchard (5 A* grades, 4 A grades and 2 B grades), Ceri-Ann Williams (2 A grades, 7 B grades and 1 C) and Adam Winkley (5 A* grades, 6 A grades and 1 B grade).
The school’s Head Teacher, Mrs Speedy said: “We wish all our former students every success and look forward to welcoming those who have chosen to join our expanding sixth-form provision.”
Many pupils have decided to continue their studies in the Sixth Form at Ysgol Maesydderwen where they are able to complete their A Levels, higher BTEC qualifications and the Welsh Baccaluareate.
