Yesterday, Ysgol Maesydderwen entered two mixed teams into the South Powys Indoor Hockey tournament held at Gwernyfed High School. Hannah Bevan from Hockey Wales came to referee the games while Nicola Jones 5x60 Officer for Gwernyfed and Crickhowell hosted the event.
The scores were very close with Crickhowell, Llandrindod Wells and Ysgol Maesydderwen all tied with 14 points, finals scores were down to goals scored:
1st Crickhowell
2nd Llandrindod Wells A
3rd Maesydderwen A
4th Gwernyfed A
5th Maesydderwen B
6th Llandrindod Wells B
7th Gwernyfed B
All the students enjoyed the games as it was a change from the regular sports they do in school. The children have asked for more Hockey to be run within the school which is now being looked into.
