Ysgol Maesydderwen and Ystradgynlais Sports Centre came together to put on a 5x60 Holiday Camp throughout the February 2015 half term. Ystradgynlais Sports Centre provided the facilities and Ysgol Maesydderwen provided the pupils to lead the sessions along with the 5x60 officer.
The pupils that lead the sessions have all completed an Active Leaders Course through Sports Wales and two pupils specifically have completed coaching qualifcations in cricket, rugby, football, first aid and DBS certificate.
The Holiday Camps had over 80 children across the three days. There was positive feedback from all parents and they asked for it to be held every holiday time.
It is great to see everyone in the community coming to support the local school and local leisure centre.
The Holiday Camps are fun and full of different activities for children to be involved in. They introduce all to a variety of different sports ranging for football to hockey and rugby to swimming. It is also a chance for your child to make new friends in the Ystradgynlais community.
