Ysgol Maesydderwen PE Department hosted an "Active Lives Day" for the Ystradgynlais Cluster
Schools Years 4, 5 and 6. The day consisted of 9 sports with each pupils choosing their 3 favorite sports. There was a choice of; Football, Rugby, Hockey, Yoga, Wheelchair Basketball, Street Dance, Street Golf and Netball.
Ysgol Maesydderwen has a great reputation for producing some of the best Young Ambassador's in Powys. Special mentions to; Catrin Norton who was a Platinum Ambassador, she works across the whole of Wales and our current Gold Ambassador, Nia Mclennan, who also works across the county plus our Silver Ambassador Jack Donnelly who works within the school and local community.
These are just three of a number of Young Ambassadors that Ysgol Maesydderwen have produced over the years since the scheme was introduced. Over the past two years Ysgol Maesydderwen Ambassadors have worked along side the local sports centre running 5x60 Holiday Camps.
At the Active Lives Day, Ysgol Maesydderwen had 14 Young Ambassadors help run the sessions along with the coaches. These Ambassadors ranged from 1 Platinum, 1 Gold and 5 silvers and 7 Bronze Ambassadors helping on the day.
