Cwmtawe Community School, Birchgrove and Gwernyfed High School attended. Some of the schools brought two teams with them as did Ysgol Maesydderwen.
Each team played 5 games in a round robin type tournament. The winner was the team with the most points.
There was a high standard of football played by every team and great sportsmanship by every pupil. Ysgol Maesydderwen's B team finished 5th out of the 6 teams but played exceptionally well. The top three teams in the group all had the same amount of points so the group was decided by goal difference. In 3rd Place was Gwernyfed with 4 goals, in 2nd place was Cwmtawe with 9 goals and in 1st place was Ysgol Maesydderwen A team with 14 goals.
This was a massive step for the Ysgol Maesydderwen KS3 footballers. This was the first time in the 5x60 football competitions that the boys had won a competition. A big thank you has to go to Mr Wolfe and Jack Donnelley (6th Form pupil) who give up their Friday afternoons after school to take the Key Stage 3 football and a thank you to Callum Close for refereeing.
Big thanks to all the teams who attended.
