Following on from Ysgol Maesydderwen’s Remembrance Assembly on 11th November, pupils performed ‘In Their Own Words’, a presentation on communication between Wales and the soldiers in the trenches during the First World War.
This was the culmination of a lot of work by pupils in researching the impact that the First World War had on the local area. The final presentation weaved together their findings from newspapers and letters into a drama presentation that was presented at Neath Little Theatre.
The school would like to thank the Welsh Government’s FFW Commemoration Grant Scheme for assisting with this well received and worthwhile project. Many thanks also to Mrs Lord, Mr Rees and all the pupils involved at every stage of the project.
