Welcome to the Chemistry department at Maesydderwen.
Within the Science department we offer triple science which is extremely popular.
The syllabus we follow at GCSE is a modular course and is OCR Gateway Science Chemistry B.
The GCSE chemistry results are excellent, typically 100% A* - C. Most of our pupils go on to study Chemistry at AS level.
We have healthy numbers at A-level for a small school and again good results. We follow the OCR syllabus at A-level also, with every pupil having access to good resources. They have their own text-book and revision guide, lab coat and lab set.
With good results over the years, many of our students go on to study medicine, or science based courses at university.

Past exam papers with mark schemes can also be found at this website.
