PSE Schemes of Work
The schemes of work are planned to include all aspects of the personal and social education framework in Wales.
Specifically the aims of PSE are to
- Develop learners, self –esteem and sense of personal responsibility.
- Promote learners self respect, respect for others and elaborate diversity
- Equip learners to live safe, healthy lives
- Prepare learners for the opportunities of lifelong learning
- Empower learners to participate in their schools and communities as active responsible citizens locally, nationally and globally.
- Foster positive attitudes and behaviour towards the principles of sustainable development and global citizenship.
- Prepare learners for the challenges, choices and responsibilities of work an adult life.
The themes of PSE identified in the framework are
- Active citizenship
- Health and emotional well being
- Moral and Spiritual development
- Preparing for long life learning
- Sustainable development and global citizenship
Each theme is addressed within each key stage, being careful to address

- Enjoy and Achieve
- Make a Positive Contribution
- Achieve Economic Well Being
At Present PSE is not examined at GCSE Level
