Ysgol Maesydderwen had a mixture of KS3 students in the event. The school performed two dances which where choreographed by Sheehan Parsons. The pupils started rehearsing the Dances back in September and have performed on two other separate occasions in the NPT Dance Festival and the School Charity week concert.
Also a local community dance group called VIBE, who practice up at Penrho's Youth Club have were asked to close the show along with Powys Dance. Ysgol Maesydderwen are fortunate enough to have students that dance for VIBE and were able to perform in the closing dance. Again this Dance was choreographed by Sheehan Parsons.
The show was huge success and a massive well done to all the pupils that took part from Ysgol Maesydderwen. A big thank you must go to Sheehan Parsons for all the hard work he has put into the choreography.
Dance has been a major part of the 5x60 timetable this year. There have been over 50 dances sessions this year. Fifteen girls took part in the show and have been dedicated to the training and practice that Sheehan has prepared for them. A major focus from Sports Wales is getting more girls involved with physical activity and dance has certainly helped in this area.
Well done all who took part.
