We will be celebrating Shwmae day again this year at Ysgol Maesydderwen on Wednesday, October 15.
“Shwmae Day” is a national event being organised by an organisation called Celebrating Our Language. A similar day has been held in many European countries where there are minority languages such as Basque, Catalan and Irish and aims to support and encourage the efforts of those who speak and learn the langauge. So on Wednesday, October 15, the Welsh department will be organising the following activities and would welcome your support and participation in making it a good day.
· An inter-form quiz (KS3 + KS4) – Welsh theme. Class prize for winners. (am registration)
· Welsh Graffiti Patchwork– staff and pupils write their favourite Welsh word, phrase or verse. (Break and Lunch-time)
· Clwb Clebran – Come for a chat and a Welsh cake: Welsh speakers and learners (Amser cinio)
· Welsh music
· Start every conversation with Shwmae!
Diolch yn fawr am bob cefnogaeth – thanks for your continued support.
