GCSE Results Thursday 24th August 2017

Year 11 students at Ysgol Maesydderwen are celebrating their GCSE, Welsh
Baccalaureate and BTEC results. Once again no pupil will leave the school
without a recognised qualification and there were some excellent individual
successes including:
 Leon Buck 13A*, 1A
 Harrison Clayton 1A*, 10 A, 3B
 Crystyn Dickson 2A*, 6A, 5B
 Daniel Edwards 13A*, 1A
 Dafydd Evans 2A*, 8A, 3B
 Alec Jones 6A*, 7A, 1B
 Anna Grace Lee 3A*, 4A, 4B
 Lewis Morgan 4A*, 8A, 1B
 Ethan Peacey 11A, 3B
 Tyler Sherratt 2A*, 7A, 4B
 Anya Welch 4A*, 7A, 3B
 Noah Wilkinson 2A*, 5A, 5B
Head Teacher, Mrs Speedy, said, “These are the first results in a new era of
examinations and we are very proud of the achievements of our students. We
look forward to welcoming back those who have chosen to join our expanding
sixth-form and building on their successful GCSE performance.”

A Level Results Day

​Press release for Ysgol Maesydderwen – Thursday 17th August 2017
 
Pupils at Ysgol Maesydderwen are celebrating their A Level results with some excellent performances.  Once again all Maesydderwen students who wished to continue their studies have secured a place at university.  
 
There were some excellent individual results including Nia McLennan (two A* grades and two A grades); Elin Anthony (an A*, three A grades and a B grade); Lloyd Handley (an A*, an A and a B grade) and Rhys Jones (three A grades and a C).
 
Congratulations also go to Year 12 pupils who achieved some excellent results in their AS exams.
 
The school’s Head Teacher, Mrs Speedy, said, “We are delighted with this year’s results.  They are a reflection of all the hard work put in by both staff and students.  It is also pleasing to see the successful results of an increasing number of students who have returned to us from college.”
